Timer switch turns lights on and off based on sunrise/sunset in your area. You don't have to spend hours adjusting the programmed on and off times on a light switch timer as the seasons change. Program your lights or appliances to turn on at sunset based specifically on your area with the Aube Solar Timer Switch 2400W, an attractive timer switch that can control incandescent, halogen or fluorescent lighting or even a 1-HP motor. Need to find something quickly late at night? No problem: The Aube Solar Timer Switch 2400W offers a manual override, which enables the load to be turned on and off without affecting the programming. A Decora-style wall plate is not included. Mount the Aube Solar Timer Switch 2400W onto a standard single or multi-gang electrical box. Program your city's longitude and latitude based on the included guide, and the Aube Solar Timer Switch 2400W will make sure your lights are on when you get home after dark. It even adjusts automatically for Daylight Saving Time if you live in an applicable zone. Programs are protected against a power failure by a pre-installed rechargeable battery. You can take advantage of optional on and off settings to turn lights on at a specific time and off at sunrise, as an example. on 2010-06-22These timers work great and are no harder to install than any other built-in timer would be. Programming is a little difficult, as I don't think the instructions are as clear as they could be, but it only takes a few minutes of careful reading and following instructions to do. The best thing is that since the timer automatically follows the sunset times, you don't need to mess with it very often. So I'm happy. I installed two of these and they work as promised.

on 2010-05-24The instructions were generally clear. There are a number of programming steps and you need to be careful entering the five required entries for the sunse/sunrise program, especially setting the day number and negative longitude. Once set, you can forget about it since the solar tracking feature takes care of adjusting the on-off times to sunset and sunrise.

on 2010-05-24Very good quality, easy to install, and works as advertised. Purchased one initially to see how well it worked. Was quite pleased and purchased two more. Use for turning on and off outside house lights at sunset and sunrise. Set it and forget it. No longer have to remember to turn the lights off in the morning, and also lights are always on whenever coming home after dark.

on 2010-05-18I installed this for our front house lights. It works perfect. I have two black wires connected to the switch. Removed the both wires and used a voltmeter to identify the hot black wire. Used the white bundle wire in the box to connect to the white, connected black to hot black wire, and blue to the second black wire.
